As of January 1, 2009 the Godleski Insurance Agency is now the D.L.Townsend Insurance Agency.
David L. Townsend, who began his insurance career in 1993 as an agent with the Godleski Agency, is owner and principal agent.
D.L. Townsend Insurance Agency offers a full line of property/casualty insurance products, including auto and homeowner’s insurance, as well as commercial and life insurance products and services from Erie Insurance.
The agency will remain at the same location that the Godleski Insurance Agency has operated from for almost two decades. David L. Townsend began his insurance career in 1993 after successfully passing both the Property & Casualty and Life Insurance exams required by the state of Pennsylvania. At that time, he accepted a position as an insurance agent with Godleski Insurance Agency, Inc.
Throughout David’s 15 year career with GIA he held several positions within the agency. David was promoted to Vice President in September 1997. From this point forward, he managed the day to day operations of the agency. In April 2005, David was promoted to Executive Vice President. In this capacity, he was responsible for the oversight of all aspects of agency operations. Shortly thereafter, David was presented with the opportunity to purchase the agency. On May 01, 2008 this opportunity became a reality. David and his wife Patricia used their newly formed company, D.L. Townsend Insurance Agency, LLC to purchase Godleski Insurance Agency.
